Movie: 文学少女 (Bungaku Shoujo)

By chance, I woke up this morning and watched a movie called 文学少女 (Bungaku Shoujo). It is definitely the best movie I've seen this year.

Bungaku Shoujo or Literature Girl in english is an animated movie that is based on a set of 8 light novels produced in Japan. The movie is based on the 5th novel of the series. Touko Amano, a high school senior who is also the literature club president (only 2 people are members of the literature club). She is a supernatural being that 'eats' stories and picks up the story's plots. The other member of the literature club is Konoha Inoue, a normal high school junior who writes impromptu stories to 'feed' Touko as 'snacks'. Konoha once wrote a popular novel that came from a newcomer contest when he was 14. The movie elaborates on the two and more on the situations and hardship that them and their friends face.

This movie really touched me because unlike movies lately, real or animated, it has an engaging plot without any BS fanservice that seems to be popular in everything nowadays. The voice cast is top-notch (believe me I've heard them all in other animations) and it doesn't drag like some movies do. I highly recommend this movie if you are into drama/romance or want to know what anime is supposed to be.
